UPSTAIRS

The sub-flooring is down and they're ready to start framing once the scaffolding has been put up, hopefully tomorrow (Friday).
Feels great to go up another level and get a higher perspective of the view.

More Framing

The ground floor frame is nearly finished and today they installed the plywood for the top floor. Amazing progress from pouring the slab just 5 days ago.

And the Frame Begins....

The frame was started today.  Its exciting to see some upright walls and now we can start to walk into some of the rooms.  The high ceilings 2700mm make the house seem so spacious.

The kids help keep the site clean...

The Slab

Its amazing how quickly a slab can be put together. It took one day to lay all of the polystyrene 'waffle pod' blocks along with some steel and mesh and then another day to pour the concrete.

All seemed to go well with the rain holding off for the day, so now we have a finished slab!!

Finally Porter Davis has arrived!

After waiting for many months, finally Porter Davis have made a start on our house.

I never thought Id be so excited about seeing a portable toilet!

There was some mis-communication about the exact siting of the house but after sorting that out things seem to be rolling quite smoothly with the piers and drainage going in today.

Our New Home

After much consideration, chopping and changing, we finally settled on a house by Porter Davis Homes.  We were attracted to the modern, innovative and spacious floorplan of the Waldorf 46 and also really liked the 'Hamptons' facade they offered, which we think will suit our country location on 110 acres.

This is what the display looks like;

For our exterior colours, we have chosen 'Dulux Silkwort' for the rendered areas and Wattyl 'Athens' for the linear boards.  We will have Wattyl white trims around the windows and Surfmist for the Colourbond roof.
